HGH HGH, Questions and Answers Q: What is Growth Hormone? A: Growth hormone is substance produced by the pituitary gland in our brains. GH is also known as somatotropin. GH is the "master hormone" of the body controlling many organs and body functions. GH is responsible for stimulating our growth in youth and tissue repair, cell replacement, brain functions, hormone balance and enzyme function throughout our lives. GH production declines rapidly as we age. By age 25 when for most of us the first signs of ageing begin, levels are about 50% of what they were at age 18. By age 40 GH levels are frequently less than 33% of the age 18 level and by age 70 they are decreased to 20-25% of our ideal level. Growth hormone deficiency is now formally recognized as a specific clinical syndrome typified by decreased muscle mass, increased body fat (especially around the abdomen), decreased exercise capacity, elevated lipid (cholesterol and triglyceride levels) profiles, decreased libido and /or sexual performance, decreased collagen and elastin levels in the skin (wrinkling and thinning of the skin) and diminished feelings of well being – The changes normally associated with ageing. Research has shown that increasing declined GH levels will significantly reverse these changes, effectively turning back the clock of time 10 to 20 years or more. Healthy life expectancy would pass 100 years and could approach 120 to 150 years with a balanced diet, anti-oxidant supplementation and a moderate exercise program added to GH Supplementation. Q: Am I HGH deficient? A: If you lack the vitality and youthful look you had in the past it is likely that your GH levels have decreased. Q: How does HGH act in my body and how is it measured? A: HGH is released in bursts during the early hours of sleep, during the third to fifth hour after we have eaten, and during vigorous exercise. HGH is released into the bloodstream by the pituitary, then is used up and broken down very quickly. Following the release of a burst of HGH from the pituitary gland the hormone is rapidly taken up by the liver, which chemically makes a myriad of growth factors. These growth factors are chemical messengers that instruct the various cells of the body, be they nerve, bone, skin, or muscle, to rebuild and repair themselves to their unique specifications Q: How long has the treatment of ageing with Human Growth Hormone been studied? A: Researchers have been studying HGH and its effects on ageing for over 30 years. Clinical trials began in the late 1980’s and the use of HGH for age related disorders was approved around 1994. HGH has been used in the treatment of growth related disorders in children with deficient GH production since 1958. Q: What is IGF-I? A: The liver converts HGH into insulin-like growth factor type 1 (IGF-1), which is much more stable than HGH, and remains more constant throughout the day. IGF-1 is believed to be the cause of most of the age reversing benefits associated with HGH. For these reasons, clinical studies measure IGF-1 levels, not HGH levels, as indicators of the biological age (versus chronological age) in the body. IGF- I (also known as somatromedin C) is the most important growth factor that comes from the liver. It is IGF-1, rather than growth hormone itself, that is used as a measurement of how much hormone is being secreted by the body. Q: What is a Secretagogue? A: Secretagogue is a fancy word for growth hormone releasing compound. It is important to clarify that secretagogues do not contain actual human growth hormone, and contain amino acids and other secretagogue compounds that can stimulate your bodies own natural process to release dormant HGH in the pituitary gland. Q: Who should undergo HGH growth hormone therapy? A: The level of growth hormones in men and women start to decline around the age of 25. By age 30 that level is decreasing at a rapid pace and by the late 50's only a small amount of HGH is still being released. Young and old alike can testify to increased energy, muscle mass (body builders), weight loss and looking and feeling better than they have in a long time. As with any strong metabolic enhancer, if you are pregnant or nursing, under the age of 20, or have health concerns, consult your physician before taking. Q: What are the benefits of HGH? A: Some of the benefits found with increasing GH to more youthful levels are:
Improved exercise capacity Higher energy levels Increased strength Increased flexibility Decrease in body fat Improved quality of sleep Increased bone density Tighter, more hydrated, smoother, thicker skin Lower cholesterol with improved HDL/LDL ratio Lower triglyceride levels Lower blood pressure if high Higher blood pressure if low Strengthened immune system/improved immune function Improved memory and concentration Faster healing of injuries Renewed healing of old injuries Enhanced feelings of well being Decreased cellulite Enhanced sexual performance Improved hair growth A: Within three weeks you should have feelings of improved well being, reduced appetite, higher energy levels, better concentration and deeper more restful sleep patterns. A blood test would already begin to show changes in certain profiles, especially IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor-1) which is released by the liver in response to GH and is responsible for the growth changes that will begin to occur. Gradually over the next few weeks you should notice improved skin condition, increased endurance, increase muscle tone and fat loss. These results and others previously mentioned will continue to accumulate with significant improvements noticeable every six months. Q: Will Homeopathic Formula produces the same results? A: Homeopathic products may bring about these results more slowly and theraputicly. Q: Are there any side effects? A: There are no known side effects. However, when the body increases its vital energy, it may begin to heal its weaknesses. In healing these weaknesses a healing crisis may occur. In holistic medicine and homeopathic medicine this is frequently referred to as re-tracing. The body may expel toxins (heavy metals, pesticides, chemicals, drugs, parasite waste, viruses, bacteria, yeast, etc.) Stored in the fat tissue and organ systems. This can cause uncomfortable temporary conditions such as headaches, skin irritations, mild anxiety, heart palpitations and/or viral outbreaks. These can be potential signs that the body is healing itself. Remember that as your body begins to repair itself, it requires more water intake to assist in the elimination of toxins. At least eight glasses of fresh, non-chlorinated, non-fluorinated water should be drunk daily. Q: Can anyone use HGH therapy? A: If you have an existing health problem such as diabetes, thyroid problem, heart disease, pregnancy, HIV+, sexually transmitted disease, Alzheimer’s, cancer or any chronic medical condition consult with a skilled anti-ageing physician specialist before starting any program to increase HGH levels. HGH can affect the dose levels for insulin and thyroid supplementation. Pregnancy always requires consultation before supplementation. Some conditions mentioned will benefit from HGH treatment but due to various reasons need to be monitored over the course of treatment. |
